Temperate Technologies (ColdEasy) develops cooling and cold storage systems engineered specifically for low-resource environments. Their solutions have a small physical and environmental footprint, work within existing structures and supply chains, don't use refrigerants, and use significantly less energy than conventional solutions. These aren't adaptations of existing products—they're patented designs built from the ground up around the constraints of the environments they operate in.
Their innovation, ColdEasy Box, is a compact and durable micro cold-storage solution for fruits, vegetables, and flowers. ColdEasy Box uses patent-pending SEEC technology that creates airflow completely passively, without any motor or electricity. It cools 3.5 times faster than standard evaporative cooling, which doubles the shelf life of produce and reduces weight loss by 80%. ColdEasy Box is the size of a large crate and combines storage and cooling in a single device. It is suitable for both storage and transport and enables an end-to-end cooled supply chain.

About the Founder:
Vishal Singhal is the Founder and CEO of ColdEasy (Temperate Technologies). ColdEasy provides farmers and retailers with access to affordable cold storage solutions to increase the shelf life of fruits and vegetables and, in the process, increase their incomes. ColdEasy's solutions are based on patented low-power cooling technology. Earlier, he was a co-founder of Ventiva, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based company that developed novel solid-state fans for electronics cooling applications. Vishal has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a BTech from IIT Kharagpur.
