4,400 WOMEN & MEN
Upaya works with entrepreneurs to collect and analyze over 25 social metrics on their employees to ensure they are making progress out of extreme poverty. We track and share information about changes in household income, meals consumed per day, housing condition, and children’s school attendance. Among a sampling of the newly employed, we have seen:
increase in average household daily income
of families now living above the extreme poverty line ($1.25/ day)
increase in daily food expenditure including a wider variety of fruits & vegetables
Bringing Social Change Data to Life
Upaya publishes partner-specific and portfolio level data reports on key indicators like Food Security, Housing Quality, Household Asset Value, and Children’s Education.
Through these reports readers can track not just an increase in income, but also the second order benefits for employees and their families.
The Face-to-Face profiles on Upaya’s website present stories and photos of beneficiaries in their communities.
These profiles give readers an opportunity to create personal connections while tracking their progress out of poverty.
