Karghewale incubates weaver-entrepreneurs by offering them a bouquet of services such as design and production training, cataloging digital market linkages, and business support services (yarn, MIS, compliance & accounting etc.). They are a one-stop solution for all textile and handicraft requirements for B2B clients.
Karghewale’s goal, in addition to building agency and ability of artisans, is to transition them from wage-weavers, earning ₹7,500 a month, to weaver-entrepreneurs earning upwards of ₹15,000 a month. Karghewale also provides market access, primarily serving the B2B segment, with some of the items also available for D2C customers on their website.

About the Founders:
Nivedita Rai served as the Executive Director of Gudi Mudi Khadi, a project of WomenWeave Charitable Trust, from 2016-20. She collaborated closely with founder trustee Mrs. Sally Holkar on strategy, market, and product development for handwoven textiles, and played a key role in realigning the organization's mission. Nivedita is a 2019 Acumen Fellow and a graduate of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA).
Sourodip Ghosh served as Executive Director of The Handloom School, an innovative project of WomenWeave Charitable Trust, from 2017 to 2021. He led the diversification of WomenWeave into two entities for improved program management and helped revise its mission and vision to adapt to changing circumstances. With extensive experience in artisan education, he contributed to formalizing the curriculum at The Handloom School and has worked with marginalized communities through organizations like NBJK and PRADAN. Sourodip is a graduate of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA).
