About the Founder:

Divya Hegde, founder of Baeru, transitioned from a career at Google to focus on sustainability and social impact. An alumna of Northwestern University and an Acumen Fellow, she has received international recognition, including the UN Women Award and the ICCE Award. Divya leads innovative coastal waste management initiatives, such as YAP (Yuddha Against Plastic), YUWA Prerana, and efforts to incentivize fishermen to retrieve ocean plastics. Her work, featured in Forbes and the Stanford Social Innovation Review, combines technology with community-driven solutions for sustainable environmental impact.
